What is Island?

Island is an online magazine launched in 2021 (and redesigned/relaunched in 2025) featuring discussions with creatives from all corners of the arts - actors, musicians, writers, filmmakers, etc.

We take a less commercial approach than most of the existing culture publications - we will discuss someone’s latest film or album, but that won’t be the sole focus of the interview.

We publish new interviews whenever we have them ready - we believe in quality over quantity, and always strive to bring out the best in the people we talk to.

If you’d like to talk to us or write for us, please get in touch - we do take on freelancers. We are a paying publication - that’s only fair! We pay £25 per piece, which will hopefully be raised at some point in the future, however we are currently only a small publication (and online only) with little in the way of a budget.
